2016 Renovation uncovered some interesting finds
Spotting dates to around 1730 and refers to the decorative application of dots on walls and sometimes ceilings. This was usually done in black dots on whitewash.
The upstairs office provided some wonderful surprises. Behind a painted mural and stenciled wallpaper we believe that we found a rare example of 'spotting', a form of colonial decorative art. See the resources page for more info on spotting. Click on the pictures for more info.
Exposed areas of the frame provided a chance to view elements of the house that have not been seen for hundreds of years.
We have tried to highlight many historical features in the renovation.
